Instructions to make Whosayna’s Gulaabi Jalebi:

  1. In a pan pour water and sugar, mix well and keep on flame, let it boil for five minutes till it bubbles and its one string consistency, remove from flame and cover it.
  2. Add the rest of syrup ingredients and mix well, cover it and keep aside.
  3. In a bowl put flour and curd, mix well then add soda bicarbonate and mix well.
  4. Add water little by little and whisk to smooth thick batter.
  5. Fill in ketchup bottle or piping bag with small hole nozzle.
  6. Shallow fry in oil/ghee piping into skimmer which is dipped in oil into jalebi shapes and release them in oil/ghee.
  7. When one side done turn the other side.
  8. Strain and put in chasni, remove jalebis with other skimmer on a platter.
  9. Keep on making jalebis same manner till all done.
  10. Garnish with almond and pistachio flakes.
  11. When cooled down keep in airtight containers.
